We are collecting working equipment, everything from shoes and shirts to cones and clipboards.  In turn, we will make them available for the next generation of players and coaches.  As we collect the gear and equipment, we will post the items on our website 

Here is where it gets better.  The equipment will be made available for anyone to pickup at no cost. However, if you can make a donation, any money received will go directly to our scholarship program that assists the kids (and their parents) of our community who might not otherwise get an opportunity to play.

A few examples:
Shoes, shin guards, uniforms and warm-ups in wearable condition.
Pop-up Canopies, first aid kits, benches, water coolers, pop-up goals and soccer balls.

You can drop the gear off anytime you see our club trailer or send us an email and we will coordinate a time to either pick up or drop off gear.

]]> http://www.shscsoccer.com/home/524268.html SHSC CAPP PROGRAM TAKES SHAPE 09/14/2011 09:35 PM http://www.shscsoccer.com/home/555986.html CAPP brought out the first of its collegiate trainings during the first weeks of August for SHSC players looking to play at the next level!  Bill Peason the coach of the Men’s soccer team at Pierce Community College held a training to give the boys a feel for preseason activities on conditioning and some technical work.  We had the following age groups represented out there: Sean Patten’s U-16’s, Mark Morrison’s U-16’s, Lyndon "The Duke" Harrhy’s U-17’s and Jason Gherson’s U-18’s.  Hopefully it gave the boys an insight for what the level of play is like at the next level.

SHSC is excited to announce its brand new "College Application & Preparation Program" (CAPP) for all U16-U18 players for high school athletes who want to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level. Choosing a college or university can be overwhelming, daunting and challenging process without the right tools and knowledge. In putting together this program our goal is to come alongside and help support athletes and their families.  SHSC is fortunate to have access to an overwhelming pool of coaches and ex-collegiate players with first-hand knowledge about this process. They are excited to be able offer this information to you.  Please view the CAPP Program calendar below

 June-July   CAPP Program Presentation

  • Individual group meetings with CAPP Director.  (Set up with individual teams)
  • Power-point presentation followed by Q and A about college selection process
  • Overall TO DO LIST for players and families looking to attend college

August 1-4    The CAPP Experience

·      2-2-a-day training sessions including fitness testing and pre-season training environment.

October-November    CAPP College Day

·      CAPP Director will organize group campus visit that will end with attending soccer match with that college or university.

 SHSC CAPP program will also provide:

·      Letter of Interest Review

·      Highlight Video Review (If you have one)

·      Phone Hotline

·      Showcase portfolio assistance

 Objectives and Goals of SHSC CAPP Program

• To understand the process and requirements for college-bound players

• How to understand the different levels of collegiate soccer, as which best suites your needs

• How to find a college that will suit you, whether you play soccer or not

• The appropriate way to contact and write letters to prospective coaches

• How to find financial aid and support
